Christian Formation Opportunities
         Sunday Mornings      Confirmation      Wednesday Evenings     

Sunday Morning We offer a wide variety of faith enrichment opportunities for all of our members from the youngest to our most senior member.  We offer and promote a comprehensive program of instruction and interpretation which invites people of all ages into our Christian community.  We encourage members to continue learning and growing in God's love.  The following opportunities for Faith Formation are:      Pre-School      Classes for grades 1 through 4 and 5-7      Youth + (grades 8 through 12)      Adults engage in Bible Study and Contemporary Issues as decided by      class interest Christian fellowship is an integral part of our life at United Church of Christ, Greenawalds.  It is our time for building relationships that find their roots in a common faith in our savior, Jesus Christ, and through which we are able to share and grow in our faith. Wednesday Evening Opportunities

Introducing . . .  New and Improved Wednesdays!

Coming to Greenawalds beginning in January 2010

 First Wednesday (of each month)

We’ll gather at 7:00 for a time of prayer, including the celebration of Communion and then we will move (depending on how many of us there are) to Pastor Jeff’s office or gather around tables in the Lobby for a time of Bible Study enhanced by refreshments and sharing the places in our lives where the practice of faith is challenging.

  Second Wednesday (of each month)

We’ll gather at 7:00 in the Sanctuary for a time of prayer and then we will move (depending on how many of us there are) to Pastor Jeff’s office or gather around tables in the Lobby for a time of Book Discussion or a movie every other month, enhanced by refreshments.

 Third Wednesday (of each month)

We’ll gather at 7:00 in the Sanctuary for a time of prayer and then we will move (depending on how many of us there are) to Pastor Jeff’s office or gather around tables in the Lobby for a time of Bible Study enhanced by refreshments and sharing the places in our lives where the practice of faith is challenging.

 Fourth Wednesday (of each month)

We’ll gather from 7:00 pm – 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary for a service of prayer and healing.

Confirmation

The rite of Confirmation is open to anyone 13 years old or entering the eighth grade.  The Class meets from Late August through Palm Sunday.  Confirmands are expected to attend weekly classes (Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 PM), worship every Sunday, attend both regularly scheduled congregational meetings (November and February); and work with a sponsor.  Students may be asked to assist in leading worship in various capacities throughout the course of the year.  Students are strongly encouraged to attend church school regularly, and are invited to be actively involved in choir and our youth group.
