The
opportunities we have for ministry, for putting our faith in
action begin right at the door step.
This page will always be developing and growing as we post more
opportunities for you to engage in ministry within our
congregation, our communities and our world.
Currently we require our Confirmation students to engage in a
Mission Project. Recently, we have encouraged all of our Ministry
Teams and Small Groups to choose a Mission project of their own.
We hope this model of Congregational Leaders being actively
involved in putting our Faith into Action will encourage all of
our members and friends to be involved in personal Faith into
Action projects.
For now, you may visit
our Links Page for some exciting
opportunities. If you have ideas for projects or if
you know of a project that needs our help, please submit your
ideas to Pastor Jeff.
Local (Community) Projects
We invite you to help us in working for Christ within our
wider community by supporting the following agencies with your
gifts and time: Phoebe Home, Lehigh County Conference of
Churches, Ecumenical Soup Kitchen, Meals on Wheels, Lehigh
Valley Hospice, OCWM, NIN, hurricane relief, the conference
roof, Angel Tree Ministries, American Cancer Society, and
Kidspeace. We also provide facilities for our community
groups and sponsor special community events such as: Boy's and
Girl's scouting clubs and Greenawalds Nursery School.
Each
week we collect non-perishable food items for the ecumenical
food bank. The collection box is located in the hallway
across from the Pastor's office.
Mission Trips
Every two years we hold a mission trip for our Senior High Youth
though we continuously fundraise to raise money for the trips.
Past mission trips have been to Colorado, South Carolina,
Maine, Washington, D.C. and our most recent youth trip was July 11-18 of 2009
to Shalotte, North Carolina. In January of 2010 we
completed an adult Mission Trip to Biloxi, Mississippi, where we
worked on rebuilding a home for a fmaily who lost their home to
Hurricane Katrina in August of 2005. This trip was hosted by the
Back Bay Mission in Mississippi.

We are in the planning stages for another trip to the Back Bay
Mission in April/May of 2012.
One of our
church family members is currently on a personal mission trip,
hiking the Appalachian Trail to raise money for earthquake
victims in Hati. Follow this link to donate or follow Rich's
progress.
